Grambling State University shelter in place lifted following bomb threat investigation
Target Tabloid – UPDATE: According to Grambling State University, the campus police department and partnering law enforcement agencies have completed their search following the bomb threat that was made on the morning of Jan. 25.
University officials said a thorough investigation of the nursing building and nearby academic locations was conducted.
All classes and business operations will resume tomorrow.
GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE) – Grambling State University officials have confirmed a bomb threat was made on the morning of Jan. 25 to the university’s nursing building.
Grambling Police Department, Ruston Police Department, Grambling State University Police Department, and Louisiana State Police are investigating the scene.
Just before 9 a.m., university officials sent an email to students to shelter in place until all threats had been cleared. Those in the Jacob T. Stewart building, the Conrad Hutchinson Performing Arts Center, and Charles P. Adams Hall have been asked to evacuate.
All classes (virtual, face-to-face, hybrid, hyflex) have been canceled until further notice, according to GSU. McCall Dining Hall and retail locations will keep their regular operating hours for now.
The Grambling State University Police Chief says no suspect has been identified, but there is a person of interest.
